With 22 clean and comfortable units, Pinecrest Chalet accomodates the lodging needs of any Sierra-bound family or group. We are proudly owned and operated by the Cal Alumni Association (UC Berkeley), but you do not need to be a Cal alum or a member of the Association to attend - everyone is welcome!

Our popular mini-chalets promise quaint lodging in one-room cabin suites complete with fully stocked kitchens, gas burning fireplaces, full baths, two queen size beds and cathedral knotty pine ceilings. Also, you have the option to choose a more intimate chalet featuring a king sized bed and Jacuzzi tub.

Spacious townhouses and deluxe cabins offer two to four bedrooms, fully stocked kitchens, and large living rooms with wood burning fireplaces, perfect for family and group entertaining.

If simplicity is more your style, our non-kitchen cottages offer lodging amenities at a very modest price. These one room bungalows sleep two to four and include shower baths and basic cooking conveniences.

Though we are first and foremost a family-oriented recreation resort, we frequently host ski clubs, church groups, hiking clubs, scout troops, and even weddings. During the summer season, our guests enjoy swimming in a heated pool nestled among the pines. We also offer an amphitheatre, seasonal basketball, volleyball, disc golf, and horseshoes. Wi-Fi and coffee service are also complimentary. As always, dogs are welcome!

Pinecrest Chalet is located in the Stanislaus National Forest at 5,600 feet in beautiful Pinecrest, California.

Nestled alongside the North Fork of the Tuolumne River, the Chalet is within a mile of gorgeous Pinecrest Lake, where one can enjoy an extensive array of outdoor activities, including swimming, fishing, hiking, bird watching, and a multitude of boating options. Adjacent to the lake, the town of Pinecrest offers dining alternatives, a grocery store, sport shop, bike rental services, and an art guild. Horseback riding is located just a stone’s throw from town. And we can’t forget our backyard – the Emigrant and Carson-Iceberg Wilderness Areas, where world-class high-Sierra hiking eagerly awaits.

For the winter adventurers, you’ll be just minutes away from a fantastic family ski and snowboarding experience at Dodge Ridge – ask us about our Stay and Ski Free package. Sledding, cross-country skiing, and snow-shoeing opportunities also abound right outside your door.
